Stay close to an MRT station, and you can reach everything. The best all-round area is around Formosa Boulevard (R10 / O5), where the two lines cross. Stay by the harbor or the Love River if you want to walk to Pier-2 and the waterfront; stay in Zuoying if you're mostly coming and going by High Speed Rail.
The areas
- Formosa Boulevard and Central Park (R10 / O5, R9). The centre: both MRT lines, Liuhe Night Market, Central Park and the Shinkujiang shops. One train to the airport (R4), the HSR (R16) and the harbor (O1).
- The Love River and Yancheng (O2, O4). The old town, a walk from Pier-2, the Love Boat and the Museum of History.
- Asia New Bay (light rail C5 to C11, R8). The new waterfront: the Music Center, the library, Dream Mall, and the light rail along the harbor.
- Kaohsiung Main Station (R11). Handy for the regular train to Tainan; the station's new canopy and park, Kaohsiung Green Hill, opened at the end of 2024.
- Zuoying (R16). Right at the HSR and the Kenting Express, close to Lotus Pond and Ruifeng Night Market.
