Bring home something from the city's farms or its harbor: guava from Yanchao, banana treats from Qishan, a paper umbrella from Meinong, or dried tuna, squid or milkfish. For design gifts, try the Pier-2 shop and the museum shops, and look out for the city's mascot, the Kaohsiung Bear.

- Guava from Yanchao (燕巢), which has the largest guava orchards in Taiwan and is where the pearl guava began.

- Farmers' association produce: the city's agriculture bureau publishes a catalogue of local gift products, and the farmers' associations sell them online.
From the harbor
The city promotes its "marine flavours": tuna, saury, squid, milkfish and grouper, sold dried, canned and packed as gifts.
